Mickie Caspi is an Israeli-American artist and calligrapher, who has been specializing in Judaica since the eighties. She grew up in Highland Park, Illinois, and first learned Hebrew while living on a kibbutz as a child. Introduced to art at a young age by her parents, Caspi formally studied at Columbia College in Chicago. She currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts, with her husband and business partner.
Among the many sources that inspire Caspi’s delicate watercolor designs are traditional Jewish motifs, Persian and Arabic illumination, contemporary graphics, art nouveau, and art deco. Being an avid gardener, she loves to incorporate the beauty of nature into much of her artwork.
