The notes are glass nuggets that have been wrapped in metal and soldered to form the shapes of the notes.  The musical staff is created by wires soldered together. The structure is attached to the glass base of the menorah.  The candle holder rod has nine candle holders, one for each night of Hanukkah and for the shamash, the candle that lights the other candles.
