A warm and dynamic design evokes the spirit of this beloved holiday. All around a rich vignette of stained glass and at the center, a charming home studded with little treasures. The Hebrew words for “Hanukkah the holiday of light” are cut into the columns on each side of the center pane. The intricate design is handpainted within the stainless steel frame. A variety of materials are inserted within and layered with artist’s resin. The Menorah parts are cut to fit perfectly and are assembled without the use of welding or glue, resulting in a beautifully finished piece.
One of the oldest symbols of the Jewish faith, the menorah, a nine-branched candelabrum, was used daily in the Jerusalem Temple. The menorah or chanukia of today is lit during the eight days of the holiday of Hanukkah, commemorating the rededication of the temple and the jug of sacred oil that miraculously lasted for eight days.
