"Butterfly Ginkgo" Nut Dish by Michael Aram

Price: $230.00
In Stock

Relish the evocative irony of serving tree nuts from this botanical dish. You'll ask yourself whether the ornaments are tree leaves or butterflies, and almost forget that they're neither, but masterfully handcrafted brass. As Magritte might say, Ceci n'est pas un papillon!

(And don't worry—if you or someone you love has an allergy to nuts, other snacks will look equally whimsical nestled in the shining bowl!)

Dimensions: 9.25"(L) x 8.5"(W) x 5.75"(H). The dish is 5 inches in diameter.
Materials: natural and oxidized brass, hand-textured stainless steel.

This magical, tour-de-force collection from Michael Aram arose out of his fascination with the Ginkgo Biloba tree, whose double leaf evokes a butterfly's wings. "The first time I saw this tree, it literally looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye."
